Care to work with the Young Pioneers?
We're always interested in hearing from talented writers, photographers, and designers, especially those who are currently traveling in odd corners of the world. Please get in touch if you know of specific working traveler subcultures or opportunities that you think the Young Pioneers should investigate.
Forward all communiqués to Dan Eldridge:

Expat and Working Traveler Submissions
We're currently accepting submissions of brief first-person essays from travelers who have lived or worked abroad. We'd love to hear your story: where did you go, and what did you do? Why? How did you first come upon the idea of living or working abroad? Did you enjoy the experience? Was it awful? Would you ever do it again? What did you learn about yourself in the process?
We'll be featuring a selection of expatriate and working traveler profiles in our upcoming issue, so if you think you have an interesting story and would like to be included, send a brief query to
ypworldwide@yahoo.com. If we think your story would be useful for our readers, we'll be in touch. Please also let us know if you have any photographs of yourself on the job, or in the country in which you lived. And although we wholeheartedly encourage the practice, for the purposes of this project, studying abroad doesn't count.
WWOOF and Fruit Tramping Submissions
We're currently interested in hearing from anyone who has traveled widely by means of volunteering on farms, especially the organic farms in the WWOOF (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) organization. Please get in touch if you'd like to contribute to our upcoming themed issue about farm workers and farm travel.
We're also currently interested in hearing from people who've supported their wanderlust by picking or packing fruit in various parts of the world. We're particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has been involved in a European harvest. Please give us a shout if you'd like to contribute to our upcoming issue about Fruit Trampers.
